The Farms Together program, funded by the Local Food Purchase Assistance Cooperative Agreement (LFPA), is a vital California-based initiative that connects small and mid-scale farmers with families in need of fresh, nutritious food.
Saturday, March 1, was a perfect bluebird Truckee day. And I think it was a day we woke up as citizens. Our worries didn’t go away: the housing costs, the high prices, the weekend traffic were all there. But somehow, we put them in perspective when the biggest issue was crystallized — the threat to democracy itself.
Like many Americans who believe in democracy, a republic form of government, and the constitutional rule of law, I have been deeply troubled and, dare I say, depressed by the current course taken by the leadership of our great country.
